The Atelier

Atelier in.it is an architecture and design studio with multidisciplinary work including residential, retail, hospitality and product design. The approach is to create unexpected outcomes from an innovative vision. The signature style is to curate dynamic experiences that evolve constantly, thus creating an emotional and aesthetic impact. A contemporary technique of experimentation that goes beyond tactility, unfolds in a stratified storytelling, that is penned down in each project.

Rajalakshmi Karthikeyan

An architect from India, practicing in Italy, Rajalakshmi Karthikeyan graduated from BMS School of Architecture in Bangalore and continued her studies in Master’s in Interior Design at NABA, Milan. The innate love for the journey that has taught her the intricate details, craftsmanship and history that unites India & Italy, led to the birth of Atelier in.it

She commenced her career designing luxury residences and retail boutiques which quickly broadened to the hospitality sector including hotels and resorts for Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton & The Leela. She believes that the success of design lies in retrospection. There are some places that one can visit time and again and it will evoke an emotion, just like the first time. There is a medley of familiarity and surprise, and this should be captured in every design. Her work is strongly characterized by the juxtaposition of form, function and materiality. An unmissable emphasis on sustainability is believed to be more than an underlying principle, it is a must.
